Danielle Guille reports from Vanuatu, that this follows an aerial survey over the weekend.

The most urgent concern is the possible outbreak of malaria and dengue fever in areas that are still flooded and where medical supplies are low. Tomorrow, the Vanuatu government should request medicaments and water purification tablets from France, Australia and New Zealand, the three countries that have an assistance agreement with Vanuatu in case of natural disaster. In the medium term, as the re-building of the bridges is left for after the cyclone season, temporary bridges may be requested as well. However, such bridges may be hard to find and too costly to install.
